I Love Buildings

I’ve always loved buildings, especially older ones. I think a building takes on the personalities of it’s inhabitants, the older the building, the more people have passed through the doors. Perhaps even ghosts effect their personalities and bats, rats, priests and clerks and crack addicts too. Yup I love them all.

I love houses too, warm friendly houses filled with rosie cheeked kids and loving moms and dads and tail wagging doggies. I have a somewhat romantic outlook in life and it reflects in my paintings.

This country is so rich in history and I love Cities that preserve older buildings but age and decay take their toll and we are losing these pieces of history at an alarming rate so I try to paint as many as I can. Good news for the owners because they can purchase prints rather than order a commission. If you see your building on this site contact me for print purchases or you can buy the original.

I spend many hours and often paint individual bricks and fine details so I consider my commission prices very low and my limited edition prints all have original watercolour over acid free pigment ink on a dedicated large format pigment printer.

I start all my paintings with a highly detailed Pen and Ink sketch which is digitally scanned at a high resolution. These pen and ink prints are often framed as finished pieces giving the client two styles of the same commission.

The finished products are Matted, signed and sealed for delivery and I sometimes have the perfect frame in stock since I often choose frames from local custom frame shops in Hamilton, Niagara Falls and London, Ontario where I have Galleries that display my work.
